Robyn Walker is a wedding officiant who strives to give each couple an unforgettable experience on their special day. Her focus is on providing the best experience for couples looking to elope or have a small wedding. She believes that every couple should have their own storybook wedding no matter how big or small it may be. Robyn will work closely with you and personalize your ceremony so that it reflects your relationship and individuality as a couple.
What inspired you to become a wedding officiant?
My elopement was an amazing experience and my best friend and her fiancé were inspired by it and decided to have a minimony. She asked me to officiate & help plan her wedding and I fell in love with the entire process. Since then I’ve been bringing big wedding energy to elopements and small ceremonies all across NYC and Central Park.
Can you describe your approach to working with each wedding couple?
After a phone consultation to see if I’ll be the right fit for your ceremony, we will move forward with a questionnaire that helps me get to know you two as a couple. A bit closer to your wedding date we will have a workshop where we get into detail about the ceremony to make sure everything goes smoothly on the day of. All my couples also receive a custom marriage certificate to frame and have in their home to commemorate the day!
What do you enjoy about officiating weddings in Central Park?
It’s the perfect location for small and intimate weddings. Central Park is filled with the most fairytale-esque spots perfect for beautiful and elegant ceremonies.
Tell me about some of your most memorable weddings in Central Park or NYC!
Shakespeare Garden: The brides’ families lined the steps of the garden. Bride A and I were standing at the top and Bride B walked through the park in the most fairytale dress to the top of the stairs with their daughter being the mini bride & flower girl. It was really beautiful!
Wagner Cove: A couple from London and their moms, the bride’s younger sister, and a photographer. It was very secluded and felt as if they had the whole park to themselves!
The View at Battery Park: This was a small ceremony of about 40 people. We had a waterfront view and the Statue of Liberty in the backdrop! The couple performed a sand ceremony with their children to symbolize their families coming together!
“With how beautiful and personal our ceremony was, it was as if Robyn was a longtime family friend. She gives off such a warm and radiant light and she sincerely filled the whole room with love as she performed our wedding. We are truly happy we found her and I highly recommend Robyn if you are truly looking for the perfect ceremony.”
